HealthGuard BK
Use HealthGuard® BK is a concentrated anti-microbial, especially formulated for use in
the textile industry.
HealthGuard® BK can be applied to all types of textiles and is compatible with
most finishing agents.
HealthGuard® BK can be applied with fluorocarbon finishes, flame retardant
finishes and all resin systems and softeners normally used in textile finishing.

Objective Products correctly treated with HealthGuard® BK will:
Control a broad spectrum of microorganisms contaminating the
treated article.
Increase hygiene and long lasting freshness.
Prevent odours caused by microorganisms.
Prevent discoloration due to microbial attack.
Reduce the frequency of laundering.
Appearance Clear yellow liquid.
Solubility Soluble in esters and glycols.
Emulsifiable in water.
Reaction pH of 1% solution is 4.0 – 6.0.
Compatibility With most finishing agents.
Optical Brightening Agents (OBA).
Resins.
Water repellent.

Application 0.3% – 1.0% on weight of goods is added for anti-microbial effect.
HealthGuard® BK can be applied by padding, spraying and exhaust methods.
HealthGuard® BK can be sprayed onto carpets as a topical treatment.
HealthGuard® BK can be mixed with flexible acrylic resins for application to
polypropylene yarns used in mattress tickings. HealthGuard® BK will migrate into
the polymer.
** Pick up of the article being treated is important for dosing calculations.
Dosing % is dependent on the end durability requirements.
IMPORTANT: Do not exceed application dosing instructions. Over application may result in skin irritation.
Drying temperature Less than 120oC.
Packaging 200kg closed plastic drums or 1000kg intermediate bulk container.
Non conforming packaging requests incur surcharges.
Test results All testing is carried out independently to ensure credible results.
Independent testing ensures no in-house bias.
Storage Store in original containers. Avoid excessive heat and cold. Avoid direct sunlight
for prolonged periods. Keep containers securely sealed. No smoking, naked
flames or ignition source. Store in cool, dry, well ventilated area. Store away from
incompatible materials and foodstuff containers. Protect from physical damage
and check regularly for leaks.
Incompatibilities Avoid storage with oxidisers.
Avoid contamination of water, foodstuff, feed or seed.
Transport Miscellaneous Dangerous Goods by AIR and SEA.
Special handling Thoroughly clean hands after handling of this product.
Do not allow spills to enter waterways.
